Who are we? What is SafeTravellers?

SafeTravellers is a three year Horizon Europe funded project aiming to deliver a near-operational border control solution (TRL 7+) that:

•  Enables frictionless border crossing without stopping at checkpoints

•  Strengthens border security through advanced identity and fraud detection tools

•  Places travellers in control of their personal data through self-sovereign identity

•  Fully complies with GDPR, ethics, and privacy-by-design principles

The project explores the use of Digital Travel Credentials (DTCs) combined with multi-biometric identification, sensor technologies and privacy-preserving mechanisms to address current limitations of identity documents and border processes.
